Cold Stone Creamery

After lunch we walked around exploring the many interesting stores in downtown Lafayette, but both of us had a destination in mind. Our pace increased and we began to spend less time in the stores once we saw the sign for Cold Stone Creamery.

heaven

We entered and examined the pictures and descriptions of the many possibilities for ice cream, candy and goo combinations. We agreed to split the Chocolate Devotion, which is chocolate ice cream, chocolate chips, chocolate sauce with brownies.

It is very exciting to watch the ice cream get scooped and plopped down onto the frozen granite surface, chocolate chips stewn about, several very generous squeezes of chocolate syrup over all and topped with brownies. The girls’ hands were a blur of movement and she deftly mixed up and then scooped into your choice of waffle cone or bowl. We chose bowl since we were sharing. Our server apologized that our medium would not fit in the appropriate bowl, so we were upgraded to the large bowl. When I threw a dollar into the tip bowl, she cheerfully asked if I would like her to sing, but I was all… hello, we need to eat this ice cream now and declined. They have a nice table outside, perfect to enjoy our indulgence surrounded by birds singing and bright, colorful plantings.

gorgeous chocolate devotion

It was rich, creamy and full of all manners of chocolate decadence. We gobbled it up. My only complaint was that the brownies should have been left a little bit more intact, they were broken up into crumb size bits, but that is a small complaint. $5 for a very large size treat.

Haha, I love how you declined their singing for quicker access to the ice cream.
